Packing your device

Five minutes here protects your price. Devices damaged in transit have to be re-quoted, which is the one part of this nobody enjoys.

1
Back up, then factory reset
Sign out of iCloud or your Google account and turn off Find My / Activation Lock. A device that arrives still locked can't be processed, and we'll have to send it back.
2
Take the SIM and any memory card out
Also remove cases, screen protectors and pop sockets. We can't return accessories sent by mistake.
3
Wrap the device itself
Bubble wrap is ideal; a folded towel or several sheets of newspaper work fine. Cover the screen especially - most transit damage is a cracked screen from a knock through thin packaging.
4
Use a box, not a padded envelope
A jiffy bag gives almost no protection against being dropped or stacked. Any small cardboard box will do - the one your last delivery came in is perfect.
5
Fill the gaps
The device shouldn't move when you gently shake the box. Add more padding until it doesn't. Laptops should have nothing loose on top of the lid.
6
Include your order number
Write it on a slip of paper inside the box. This is how we match your device to your quote the moment it's opened.
7
Seal it and attach the label
Tape all the seams. If you're using an InPost locker you don't need to print anything - just scan the QR code we emailed you at the locker screen.
